Not sure which range is right for the room?
Book a free measureA living room earns its keep every day: family films, muddy dog paws, a dropped cup of tea, the odd birthday party. The floor needs to look good in photos and still cope with the reality of daily life, which usually means leaning toward a hard-wearing weave or a wipeable surface over the most delicate option in the range.
Carpet questions
Why does the price depend on the roll width?
Carpet comes off a fixed-width roll, usually 4m or 5m, and you pay for the full width of every metre cut, even where the room is narrower. Our estimator shows both the floor area and the larger ordered area so the roll-width effect is visible rather than hidden inside one number.
Will my carpet have a join?
Only if the room is wider than the roll in both directions. When that happens the estimator flags it and shows where the seam would likely fall, so you can see it before you book a measure rather than finding out on fitting day.
Do I need new underlay?
Most carpets need a separate underlay, priced by the whole roll rather than by the metre. Feltback carpets have the underlay already bonded to the back, so no separate underlay line is added for those ranges.
What is not included in the estimate?
Preparing the subfloor underneath, if it needs it. That is confirmed at the home measure because it depends on what Darcy finds when the old floor comes up, and we would rather tell you a real range than guess online.
How long does fitting take?
Most single rooms are fitted within a day. Darcy confirms timing at the measure once he has seen the access, the room shape and whether the old floor needs lifting first.
