What happens at the home measure

How an online estimate turns into an exact, written price.

Before the visit

You book a free home measure from any estimate, range page or the booking form. There is no charge and no obligation at any point in this step; you only pay once you choose to go ahead after seeing the exact price.

What gets measured

The longest and widest points of each room are measured properly, along with the perimeter, doorways, and anything irregular about the shape, such as an alcove or a chimney breast, that a simple length-by-width estimate cannot account for. Stairs are measured step by step rather than estimated, because winders and the landing both take real time to fit.

What gets checked

The subfloor is checked for anything that needs addressing before the new floor goes down, such as an uneven surface or a damp-proof requirement. This is the one cost category that can never be estimated accurately online, because it depends entirely on what is found once the old floor comes up.

What you get afterwards

An itemised, written price that replaces the online estimate, covering materials, fitting and anything the subfloor needs. Nothing is booked in and no payment is taken until you have seen that price and chosen to go ahead.
