Questions about luxury vinyl tiles

What is the difference between LVT and sheet vinyl?

Luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) are rigid planks or tiles that click or glue together, rather than one continuous sheet. That gives a more realistic wood or stone look and a firmer feel underfoot, at a higher price than sheet vinyl.

Why is LVT sold in packs rather than a roll?

LVT is manufactured as individual planks or tiles boxed into packs, not cut from a roll, so there is no roll width or seam question. Instead, the pack-area rule rounds your floor area up to the next whole pack, because a part-pack still means buying the full box.

Is LVT suitable for underfloor heating?

Most LVT ranges are, but the maximum surface temperature varies by product, so this is confirmed at the measure against the specific range you choose.

Can I fit LVT in a bathroom?

Yes, provided the joins are sealed correctly. LVT copes well with everyday splashes; a fully wet room needs the seams checked carefully, which is part of what the home measure is for.
